The Deal

Punk & Pedagogy operates two types of transactions. Your return rights depend on which one you're dealing with.

Books & Affiliate Purchases

We don't sell books directly. When you click through to Bookshop.org or Better World Books, you're leaving our site and completing your purchase with them. That means:

- Your return is handled by the partner site, not by us
- Their policies apply, not ours
- Their customer service handles issues, not ours

If you have questions about a book order, contact the site where you checked out.


Direct Purchases (Merch, Prints, Collective Items)

For products fulfilled directly through our store (via Printful, Printify, or Shopify Collective), we handle returns.

Return Window

  • 30 days from delivery date
  • Item must be unused, unworn, and in original condition
  • Original packaging required where applicable

What's Returnable

  •  Defective or damaged items (we'll cover return shipping)
  • Wrong item sent (we'll cover return shipping)
  • Changed your mind (you cover return shipping)

What's NOT Returnable

  • Custom or personalized items
  • Digital products
  • Items marked "final sale" at checkout

Return Shipping Costs

  • Defective/damaged/wrong item: We pay
  • You changed your mind: You pay
  • Restocking fees: None

How to Start a Return

Email us: returns@punkandpedagogy.com

Include:
1. Order number
2. Item(s) you're returning
3. Reason for return
4. Photos (if defective/damaged)

We'll respond within 48 hours with return instructions and a return authorization if approved.

Refunds

- Refunds processed within 5-7 business days after we receive and inspect the return
- Original payment method only
- Shipping costs are non-refundable (unless we made an error)
- If you received free shipping, we'll deduct the actual shipping cost from your refund

Exchanges

We don't do direct exchanges. Return the item for a refund, then place a new order for what you want.

Damaged or Defective Items

Contact us immediately (within 7 days of delivery) with photos. We'll either:
- Send a replacement
- Issue a full refund
- Offer store credit

The Fine Print

This policy applies to purchases made directly through our Shopify store. For affiliate purchases (books), the partner site's policy governs. We reserve the right to refuse returns that don't meet these terms or appear fraudulent. California residents: You have additional rights under CA Civil Code § 1723.

This policy complies with FTC Mail/Telephone Order Rule and applicable consumer protection laws. Your statutory rights are not affected.
