Terms of service

(AKA: How we run this thing without selling our souls)

Updated: April 9, 2026

Welcome to Punk & Pedagogy — part bookstore, part learning movement, part joyful rebellion. By using this site, you agree to the following terms, which are designed to be clear, humane, and not written like someone copy-pasted them from a corporate crypt.

If anything below feels unclear, email us. If anything feels oppressive, let us know so we can fix it. We're building this together.

1. Using This Site

You're welcome to browse, read, buy books, snag merch, explore ideas, and join our tiny revolution — as long as you're a real human and not a bot trying to DDoS us, steal our customers, or invade our digital commune.

You agree not to:

  • Break the website
  • Hack the website
  • Copy our content and sell it (booooo)
  • Use this site for anything illegal, harmful, or fascist

If you do any of the above, we reserve the right to boot you from our digital house party.

2. Who We Are (and Aren't)

Punk & Pedagogy is an independent, values-driven project based in Long Beach, California.

We are not Amazon, Walmart, Google, or any other corporate monolith.
We do not track you across the internet like a techno-dystopian bogeyman.

We curate and recommend:

  • Books — via affiliate partnerships with Bookshop.org and Better World Books (you purchase directly from them, not us)
  • Print-on-demand merch — fulfilled by Printful, Printify, or Shopify Collective partners
  • Digital educational materials — sometimes

We don't warehouse inventory in some forklift labyrinth.
We don't have a 24/7 call center.
We do care deeply.

3. Orders & Fulfillment

When you make a purchase:

  • Books: You're redirected to Bookshop.org or Better World Books to complete your transaction. They handle payment, shipping, and customer service for book orders.
  • Merch: Printed and shipped by Printful, Printify, or our Shopify Collective partners.
  • Digital goods: Delivered instantly via email.

Each partner has their own fulfillment timelines, and we link to their details on product pages.

If something goes wrong, email us and we'll troubleshoot like the scrappy, capable humans we are.

4. Pricing

We try to keep prices fair and aligned with our values.
Prices may change because the world is weird, supply chains are fragile, or a partner adjusts their rates.

If there's a pricing error and it's obviously wrong (like a $700 T-shirt or a $1 copy of bell hooks), we reserve the right to correct it before fulfilling.

5. Returns, Refunds & Replacements

Our full policy lives in our Return & Refund Policy, but here's the quick version:

  • Books: Follow Bookshop.org or Better World Books' return policies (handled by them, not us)
  • Print-on-demand merch: No returns for size/style preferences, but we replace damaged/incorrect items
  • Digital goods: Non-refundable, but we fix access issues

You can read the whole thing on our [Return & Refund Policy page].

6. Accuracy of Information

We try our best to keep information current, correct, and helpful.
Sometimes humans mistype things or the internet hiccups.
We reserve the right to modify content without prior announcement — but we do it thoughtfully, not chaotically.

7. Privacy

We take privacy seriously.
We don't stalk you, sell your data, or do any of that creepy stuff.
We do use minimal analytics required to understand how people use the site so we can improve it.

Full details live in our [Privacy Policy].

8. Community Conduct

P&P attracts people who care.
You're expected to be decent:

  • No harassment
  • No hate speech
  • No bigotry
  • No fascist nonsense
  • No exploiting others

We are building a future with generosity and rigor — not cruelty.

We reserve the right to remove users or block accounts that harm the community.

9. Intellectual Property

The ideas, words, designs, and lovingly chaotic creativity found here belong to Punk & Pedagogy (unless otherwise attributed).

You can share things non-commercially with credit.
You cannot resell or redistribute P&P content for profit without permission.

10. External Services

This site includes links and integrations with:

  • Bookshop.org
  • Better World Books
  • Printful, Printify, Shopify Collective
  • Payment processors
  • Analytics tools (light, privacy-conscious ones)
  • Future partners we trust

Each partner has its own rules, timelines, and policies.
We're not responsible for things they do — but we pick partners who aren't jerks.

11. Termination

If you violate these terms or use the site in a harmful, exploitative, or malicious way, we may temporarily or permanently suspend your access.

We don't want to.
But also — don't be that person.

12. Updates to These Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect new features, partners, or realities. When we do, we'll change the revision date at the top. Significant changes will be announced.

13. Contact

If you have questions, concerns, ideas, or want to talk about education and punk philosophy at 11pm:

Email: chrissie@punkandpedagogy.com
