How Children Fail

Holt spent years in classrooms watching children fail and concluded that the failure was not in the children. It was in the system. Schools teach children to be afraid: afraid of giving the wrong answer, afraid of looking stupid, afraid of the gap between what they know and what they are supposed to know.
