The Losers Club

Alec likes to read — real reading, the kind where you disappear. His school has other ideas: summer reading club, assigned books, performance of enthusiasm. He starts a counter-club: the Losers Club, for kids who just want to read whatever they want. Clements writes about reading as an act of independence with the authority of someone who has spent his career proving it. The most P&P book on the Little Anarchists shelf — a kid who decides that the official version of something he loves is actually ruining it, and builds his own instead.
